From my own travels around the internet, it seemed to leave pretty much everyone pleased : people who’d never heard of Fallout before and seemed to appreciate it as enjoyable prestige television, Fallout fans who felt it was a faithful vision of the series’ gruelling post-apocalypse and critical political commentary (even if it’s perhaps a little lighter on that side than the post- Fallout 2 wasteland hijinks), and Todd Howard, who can now presumably build his own massive underground vault and fill it full of the cash made from everyone wanting to play Fallout again ....

It’s been a surprise hit - according to the gabbling labcoats at GameDiscoverCo, AdHoc’s superhero workplace comedy is approaching two million sales. Reasons given for this range from the appealing but uninvestigated - there’s a Galactus-sized untapped audience for narrative single player games, and all the publishers are absolute spanners for doubling down on live service projects instead - to the boring - people are still keen on superheroes, especially sociopathic and disgusting superheroes that cut against archetypes from the more pompous Marvel films, and Dispatch is simply a very well-made game ....
