Starter Houses

When launching into a brand new seed , the first few days in Minecraft are crucial. With limited resources and tools, you’ll likely need a strong starter house to keep you going before you endeavour to build something more ’luxury’ orientated. Below we’ve gathered simple but efficient house ideas to help you get started and then a few more designs to expand upon those when you have the materials to do so.

1. Wooden Starter House

A wooden starter house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber WiederDude. - 3

Wooden Starter House byWiederDude|Image credit:WiederDude Tutorials on YouTube

If you want your first survival home to have more of a cabin-y vibe, then YouTuber WiederDude has put together a quaint and compact starter house made from oak and birch wood. It’s amazing how powerful a simple fence encircling a balcony can be in elevating an otherwise very straightforward home, isn’t it?

2. Mangrove Starter House

A Mangrove Swamp house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber Folli. - 4

Mangrove Starter House byFolli|Image credit:Folli on YouTube

If you want to set up home in the Mangrove Swamp , then YouTuber Folli has created a lovely looking starter house out of materials found in the biome. It’s a small, cosy, rustic house that strikes me as the perfect base to build far from your main home.

3. Simple Wooden Survival House

A simple wooden survival house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber SheepGG. - 5

Simple Wooden Survival House bySheepGG|Image credit:SheepGG on YouTube

This wooden house is a starter home worthy of even the best Minecraft seeds . It is made out of more traditional oak and birch wood, but the combination of fences, logs, planks, slabs, and trapdoors adds a lot of variety and texture to the build (even without the use of Minecraft texture packs ), and turns the whole thing into a much more appealing starter house than most others you’re likely to come across. You can thank YouTuber SheepGG for this particular build.

4. Survival Starter House

A starter house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber Zaypixel. - 6

Survival Starter House byZaypixel|Image credit:Zaypixel on YouTube

Zaypixel’s lovely little starter house is made from nothing more complicated than spruce and oak wood, glass, and a little bit of deepslate (which you can easily substitute for cobblestone if you’d prefer). The finished product is an easy to build but very idyllic looking house that would look perfect in the middle of a lush flower forest.

5. Multi-Story Survival House

<img loading=“lazy” src=“https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/minecraft-house-ideas-survival-house-2.jpg?width=2048&height=2048&fit=bounds&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp" onerror=“this.onerror=null;this.src=‘https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhe7F7TRXHtjiKvHb5vS7DmnxvpHiDyoYyYvm1nHB3Qp2_w3BnM6A2eq4v7FYxCC9bfZt3a9vIMtAYEKUiaDQbHMg-ViyGmRIj39MLp0bGFfgfYw1Dc9q_H-T0wiTm3l0Uq42dETrN9eC8aGJ9_IORZsxST1AcLR7np1koOfcc7tnHa4S8Mwz_xD9d0=s16000';" alt=“A large survival house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber “JUNS MAB Architecture Tutorial”. - 7”>

Multi-Story Survival House byJUNS MAB Architecture Tutorial|Image credit:JUNS MAB Architecture Tutorial on YouTube

In stark contrast to the previous compact house, next up is this towering home built by JUNS MAB Architecture Tutorial . This home looks like it was built to be the ultimate base of operations, with multiple floors for all your needs and carefully crafted and bordered windows. All of these elements add up to ensure the build is a striking image on the horizon.

6. Large Survival House

A large wooden survival house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber Folli. - 8

Large Survival House byFolli|Image credit:Folli on YouTube

For those who want as much space as possible for their main base without turning their house-building into an insurmountable task, Folli has created a giant survival house mainly out of oak wood and other easy-to-gather materials, while still managing to make it look like an opulent landmark that is bound to attract everyone’s attention on any multiplayer server .

Farmhouses

A farmhouse can be just the thing to maximise your efficiency in Minecraft and keep your character with a steady supply of food and materials. Of course, you could just throw some crops together but having your own organised farmstead is a comfort after a hard day mining for ancient treasures.

7. Large Farmhouse

<img loading=“lazy” src=“https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/minecraft-house-ideas-farmhouse.jpg?width=2048&height=2048&fit=bounds&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp" onerror=“this.onerror=null;this.src=‘https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhe7F7TRXHtjiKvHb5vS7DmnxvpHiDyoYyYvm1nHB3Qp2_w3BnM6A2eq4v7FYxCC9bfZt3a9vIMtAYEKUiaDQbHMg-ViyGmRIj39MLp0bGFfgfYw1Dc9q_H-T0wiTm3l0Uq42dETrN9eC8aGJ9_IORZsxST1AcLR7np1koOfcc7tnHa4S8Mwz_xD9d0=s16000';" alt=“A wooden farmhouse in Minecraft, built by YouTuber “JUNS MAB Architecture Tutorial”. - 9”>

Large Farmhouse byJUNS MAB Architecture Tutorial|Image credit:JUNS MAB Architecture Tutorial on YouTube

This beautifully designed farmhouse, once again built by JUNS MAB Architecture Tutorial , is a cut above most other Minecraft farmhouses thanks to the modular raised design of its little square farms. There’s also plenty of room inside the foundations for later expansion, and you could even house a mineshaft all the way down to Diamond level .

8. Large Farmhouse 2

A farmhouse in Minecraft, built by YouTuber Zaypixel. - 10

Large Farmhouse 2 byZaypixel|Image credit:Zaypixel on YouTube

Zaypixel is great at creating idyllic-looking scenes, and this large two-storey farmhouse is no exception. A combination of white wool, wood, and stone bricks makes this a fairly simple build in terms of materials, but details such as the vines growing up the sides, the flowers around the base of the house, and the lanterns hanging from the edges of the roof all turn this farmhouse into one most definitely worth living in.

9. Windmill

A windmill built in Minecraft by Zaypixel. - 11

Windmill byZaypixel|Image credit:Zaypixel on YouTube

If you’ve already built your farmhouse and want to continue living a charming Minecraft countryside life, why not go for something wind-powered with this rustic windmill? Zaypixel has devised a great tutorial that’s easy-to-follow and features creative usage of wool and smooth quartz stairs to form the windmill blades. The end result is a building that looks instantly inviting - and also sustainable!

Fantasy houses

I love a good merging of fandoms, don’t you? Whether you want something that fits a whimsical vibe or you want to see something from your favourite fantasy genres recreated in Minecraft, the following builds are truly something special.

10. Fantasy House

<img loading=“lazy” src=“https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/minecraft-house-ideas-fantasy-house.jpg?width=2048&height=2048&fit=bounds&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp" onerror=“this.onerror=null;this.src=‘https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhe7F7TRXHtjiKvHb5vS7DmnxvpHiDyoYyYvm1nHB3Qp2_w3BnM6A2eq4v7FYxCC9bfZt3a9vIMtAYEKUiaDQbHMg-ViyGmRIj39MLp0bGFfgfYw1Dc9q_H-T0wiTm3l0Uq42dETrN9eC8aGJ9_IORZsxST1AcLR7np1koOfcc7tnHa4S8Mwz_xD9d0=s16000';" alt=“A fantasy house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber “Minecraft Fantasy Builds”. - 12”>

Fantasy House byMinecraft Fantasy Builds|Image credit:Minecraft Fantasy Builds on YouTube

The aptly named Minecraft Fantasy Builds channel put together a video on how to build their grand fantasy house from start to finish. The roofing is particularly good on this build, in my opinion, and I love the archway balcony peeking out over the top garden. It looks like the perfect place to just relax and gaze out at the landscape all around you.

11. Fantasy Mansion

A fantasy mansion in Minecraft, built by YouTuber BigTonyMC. - 13

Fantasy Mansion byBigTonyMC|Image credit:BigTonyMC on YouTube

If you’re after inspiration for a slightly larger base, then take a look at this marvellous fantasy mansion from YouTuber BigTonyMC . This painstakingly crafted manor is made from logs and stone bricks, but the real strength is in the little details. The chains and lanterns, the flora creeping up the walls, the shutters made from trapdoors, and the excellent clock faces in the towers all combine to make this house a real feast for the eyes.

12. Fairytale Cottage

A fairytale cottage in Minecraft, built by YouTuber BigTonyMC. - 14

Fairytale Cottage byBigTonyMC|Image credit:BigTonyMC on YouTube

This lovely brick-roofed fairytale cottage from BigTonyMC really feels like it could house either the innocent protagonist or the seemingly pleasant but actually evil villain that you’ll find in any Brothers Grimm fable. This build gives off effortless charm, and is the perfect inspiration for anyone who wants to give their home more of a fairytale feel.

13. Hobbit Hole

A house in Minecraft inspired by a hobbit hole from Lord Of The Rings, built by YouTuber Goldrobin. - 15

Hobbit Hole byGoldrobin|Image credit:Goldrobin on YouTube

Grandeur and scale isn’t for everyone, and YouTuber Goldrobin’s Hobbit Hole is a good shout for players who dream of living in a compact starter home where everything is in easy reach. For full effect you’ll need to recreate the Shire with a good foresty hill for the Hobbit Hole to poke out from, of course.

14. Wizard House

A Wizard tower house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber Zaypixel. - 16

Wizard House byZaypixel|Image credit:Zaypixel on YouTube

Zaypixel is back, this time with the ideal home for a reclusive and powerful spellcaster. This wizard tower home is made from stone bricks, spruce wood, and red brick roofing, and it appears as though it’s stood for millenia. This is the perfect build for someone who wants a tall, austere, characterful structure to call their home.

15. Witch House

A witch house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber PlatinumThief. - 17

Witch House byPlatinumThief|Image credit:PlatinumThief on YouTube

Transitioning from wizardry to witchcraft, YouTuber PlatinumThief has put together a squat and wonderfully creepy-looking witch house for players who want to embrace their inner occultist and do a spot of Minecraft potion brewing . The prismarine roof may give survival players a bit of trouble, but otherwise this is a very easily imitable house for newbies looking to start their Minecraft adventure. Just make sure you find a nice swamp in which to set up shop.

16. Haunted House

A Minecraft Haunted House, designed by YouTuber ThaMango. - 18

Haunted House byThaMango|Image credit:ThaMango on YouTube

If you want to go one step further from a simple witch house, try this full-on Haunted House for size, made by ThaMango . Full of gothic eerieness, this abode is an excellent way to make use of the bricks provided in the Pale Garden biome. The grey textures and gloomy vibe are perfect for constructing a manor fit for the Addams Family, or any other equally creepy collection of ghoulish residents that you might be able to imagine.

17. Pirate House

A pirate ship-inspired house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber DiddiHD. - 19

Pirate House byDiddiHD|Image credit:DiddiHD on YouTube

Another creative house built by DiddiHD , this one flies the infamous black and white skull and crossbones of piracy. This pirate base is made almost entirely from various kinds of wood, but the intricacy of its layout and structure provides a lot of hidden depth and complexity.

Underwater houses

Yo-ho and away we go! If you’re a water sign with a penchant for seeking out coastal views, then these next few builds may be for you. Through clever architectural design and carefully placed (we presume strengthened) glass, these houses are sure to leave you beach-ready.

18. Underwater House

An Underwater House built in Minecraft by JUNS MAB Architecture Tutorial. - 20

Underwater House byJUNS MAB Architecture Tutorial|Image credit:JUNS MAB Architecture Tutorial on YouTube

If a life of yo-ho-ho piracy isn’t enough for you, maybe it’s time to truly embrace the Seven Seas with this underwater house by JUNS MAB Architecture Tutorial . Technically, this should probably be named an On-the-water House, since only its supports are submerged. Nevertheless, this is a wild work that’s sure to challenge any experienced builder and is filled with lots of neat gimmicks in its contours, including chests and lanterns throughout the walls - perfect for hiding and displaying that ill-acquired pirate booty.

19. Ultimate Circle Underwater House

An Underwater Circle House, built by ManDooMiN in Minecraft. - 21

Ultimate Circle Underwater House byManDooMiN|Image credit:ManDooMiN on YouTube

Okay, so you’ve built a partially submerged house. Now it’s time to take it to the next level and make it circular! ManDooMiN ’s creative Ultimate Circle Underwater House - described as “a house from the future” - features a degree of cosiness that’s less pirate, more “mermaid who wants to settle down and have a cup of saltwater tea.” Half of this structure is submerged, and there’s even a porthole-style opening perfect for piloting and parking your boat. Want a life of relaxation on the water? Look no further.

20. Underwater Base

Underwater Base build by IrieGenie via YouTube. - 22

Underwater Base build byIrieGenie|Image credit:IrieGenie via YouTube

If you loved creating container houses in Subnautica , then this Underwater Base build by IrieGenie may be for you. With the exception of an above-ground porch, almost all of the build is submerged underwater and boasts 360-degree views so you can watch the squids and other sealife as they float on by. The detached rooms of the build look as though it could be a research facility of some kind but once you take a closer look inside, it has a cosy warmth to it. For extra flair, add the inside fish tank and lose yourself in the moral conundrum of keeping fish as pets whilst living underwater.

21. Stylish Underwater House

A stylish underwater house in Minecraft with three segmented parts, each separated by modern white walls. - 23

Stylish Underwater House byKeyStellar|Image credit:KeyStellar on YouTube

This one crosses categories between the Underwater Houses above and the Modern Houses featured below. Featuring extremely stylish white walls that intersect with each other, this sleek work of art is perfect for those who have great taste, but still wish to lurk beneath the waves and seek respite from the chaos of the surface world. Impressive work, KeyStellar !

Modern Houses

If Grand Designs is more your jam then consider the following house builds. The cubic nature of Minecraft lends itself well to the ultra-sleek and minimalist vibes of modern architecture. If you want to live out your dream of living in a Malibu mansion in the middle of nowhere, here is your chance.

22. Modern House With Pool

A large modern house in Minecraft, complete with pool, built by YouTuber IrieGenie. - 24

Modern House With Pool byIrieGenie|Image credit:IrieGenie on YouTube

If you want to build something in line with modern sensibilities, YouTuber IrieGenie has put together a lovely design complete with a pool out front. The materials required are far from cheap, and are largely composed of quartz, concrete, and granite as well as the more affordable stone and sandstone blocks - but the results are exquisite.

23. Luxury Modern House

A luxury modern house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber OSHACRA. - 25

Luxury Modern House byOSHACRA|Image credit:OSHACRA on YouTube

Here’s another beautiful modern house design by YouTuber OSHACRA . Though the primary materials are quartz and concrete, they’ve also made great, creative usage of dark oak wood, fences, and a layer of grass on the rooftops to add tonnes of depth and character to the build.

24. Stylish Modern House

A modern house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber JINTUBE. - 26

Stylish Modern House byJINTUBE|Image credit:JINTUBE on YouTube

This spacious modern-style house from JINTUBE looks fabulous not just from the outside but also from within. A lot of work has clearly gone into putting together each individual room of the house, so it’s great inspiration both for architects and interior designers alike.

25. Wooden Modern House

A two-story wooden house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber SheepGG. - 27

Wooden Modern House bySheepGG|Image credit:SheepGG on YouTube

Stripped logs are among my favourite building materials these days, and they’re used to great effect to create this unusual take on a modern-style house, made primarily from wood of different kinds. This lovely creation by SheepGG has just the right amount of space, lighting, and touches of flora around the sides to turn it into a wonderfully welcoming abode.

26. Large Modern House

A large modern house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber IrieGenie. - 28

Large Modern House byIrieGenie|Image credit:IrieGenie on YouTube

What can I say; people love the modern housing style. All those clean corners and non-symmetrical layouts make for a striking and pleasant place to call one’s own. If you want inspiration for a dwelling that gives you enough room for every single one of your needs and more, then this mansion by IrieGenie is a great starting point for inspiration.

27. Tall Modern House

<img loading=“lazy” src=“https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/minecraft-house-ideas-modern-house-3.jpg?width=2048&height=2048&fit=bounds&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp" onerror=“this.onerror=null;this.src=‘https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhe7F7TRXHtjiKvHb5vS7DmnxvpHiDyoYyYvm1nHB3Qp2_w3BnM6A2eq4v7FYxCC9bfZt3a9vIMtAYEKUiaDQbHMg-ViyGmRIj39MLp0bGFfgfYw1Dc9q_H-T0wiTm3l0Uq42dETrN9eC8aGJ9_IORZsxST1AcLR7np1koOfcc7tnHa4S8Mwz_xD9d0=s16000';" alt=“A multistorey modern house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber “JUNS MAB Architecture Tutorial”. - 29”>

Tall Modern House byJUNS MAB Architecture|Image credit:JUNS MAB Architecture Tutorial on YouTube

JUNS MAB Architecture Tutorial gets another shoutout for their simple but effective modern house design, with a line of concrete that snakes back and forth up the sides of the house, separating the glass walls of each floor and making the whole thing look far more attractive than if it were all just glass.

28. Pink Modern House

A pink modern house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber Kam The Builder. - 30

Pink Modern House byKam The Builder|Image credit:Kam The Builder on YouTube

Sometimes all that’s needed to make a house look great is a good unified colour scheme. The above home was built by YouTuber Kam The Builder , and features carpeted floors, an open-plan kitchen and dining area, and a whole heck of a lot of pink both inside and out.

29. Pink Modern House 2

A pink modern house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber GAMES. - 31

Let’s face it, pink is hot. Particularly when combined with white, glass, and wood in the correct quantities. This take on the pink modern house comes to you from YouTuber GAMES , and their tutorial video shows you exactly how to put together every block of this lovely little home, from the raised plant area out front to the impressively designed living room and bathroom found inside.

30. Barbie Dream House

A screenshot of a Barbie Dream House, made in Minecraft by YouTuber Brookella. - 32

Have you had enough pink yet? If you’re a fan of the Barbie movie, then presumably you can never get enough, and YouTuber Brookella is here to satisfy your desires with a Barbie Dream House that looks just like the one in the film, complete with twin pools, multiple open floors, and all the beautiful decor you need to be pretty in pink. No Ken though, sorry!

31. Suburban House

A suburban-style house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber Rizzial. - 33

Suburban House byRizzial|Image credit:Rizzial on YouTube

Rizzial’s easy-to-follow video walkthrough shows you how to put together a picturesque suburban house, complete with an attached garage. It reminds me quite a bit of the Simpsons house, which I hasten to add is a compliment. It’s a great build for those who want their home to be less magnificent and more quirky, understated, and subtly attractive.

32. 3-floor Glass House

A 3-floor GLass House build by ManDooMiN in Minecraft. - 34

3-floor Glass House byManDooMiN|Image credit:ManDooMiN on YouTube

Here’s another option from ManDooMiN - a shimmering tower that stuns with a rooftop garden, a water elevator, and hanging glow berries. The final result is a thoroughly stylish piece of Minecraft architecture that’s sure to stand tall above the landscape of any server, drawing wows from every player who sees it.

33. 3-Floor White Container House

A 3-floor white container house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber ManDooMiN. - 35

Following the 3-tier trend, this stylish 3-floor design is another hit from ManDooMiN , and is perfect for players who want an achievable yet striking abode with lots of modern touches to set it apart from the more traditional rustic Minecraft house aesthetic. Also, living in a container is just nifty.

34. Pale Oak House

A Pale Oak house designed in Minecraft by YouTuber Kinu. - 36

Pale Oak House byKinu|Image credit:Kinu on YouTube

This spectacular house, made by Kinu , combines modern sensibilities and a super clean, black and white look that’s infinitely flexible and never out of place. This house could work in a suburb that just touches the forest, or it could also work as a private getaway that’s in tune with nature without disturbing it. Or it could be that unaffordable dream house for everyone who likes strong colours and dreams of multiple floors! Basically, this Pale Oak House is one I’d love to live in, and it’s a great use of the Pale Gardens biome.

Japanese Houses

It’s no secret that Japanese architecture is some of the most pretty in the world. From traditional Kominka houses, Minka farmhouses and the elite Shoin guest halls reserved for the military and samurai, Japanese Houses can be extremely diverse. Here is a sampling of a few of our favourites to try in Minecraft.

35. Japanese House

A Japanese house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber BlueBits. - 37

Japanese House byBlueBits|Image credit:BlueBits on YouTube

Japanese-style architecture is very popular amongst Minecraft builders, and YouTuber BlueBits has you covered with a spacious home which makes use of a variety of interesting block types and doodads, from acacia slabs to dark oak signs. All of these blend together to create a very detailed and good-looking house for any Minecraft player to emulate, and the idyllic bamboo garden surroundings only elevate this peaceful domicile to true zen qualities.

36. Japanese Village House

A simple Japanese village house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber Cortezerino. - 38

Japanese Village House byCortezerino|Image credit:Cortezerino on YouTube

If you’d rather build something a little simpler than the above example, YouTuber Cortezerino gives us this understated design for a Japanese-style village house. Small in stature, the combination of nether brick roofs, stripped logs, and dark fences make it an eye-catching abode despite its size, and a welcome addition to any Minecraft village .

37. Japanese Pagoda-Style House

A Japanese pagoda-style house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber SheepGG. - 39

Japanese Pagoda-Style House bySheepGG|Image credit:SheepGG on YouTube

SheepGG brings us some elevation with this attention-grabbing and elegant pagoda. Even ignoring the splendid cherry blossom trees on the outskirts made from pink and white wool, this is a fabulous build filled with interesting layerings of wooden slabs and soft lighting provided by lanterns and redstone lamps. And the lighting looks even better with one of the best Minecraft shaders installed - or even ray tracing , if your PC is up to the task.

38. Large Japanese House

A large Japanese house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber Folli. - 40

Large Japanese House byFolli|Image credit:Folli on YouTube

Folli is back with an incredibly comprehensive 90 minute video showing you how to put together a fabulously intricate house inspired by Japanese architecture. Instead of the tall pagoda featured in SheepGG’s build, this structure is a two-storey manor, but it is no less stunning, and might be a better choice if you’re looking for a building project with less verticality. The prismarine blocks used to create the roofing are especially nice, and provide a striking contrast against the dark wooden walls.

Cabins

Let’s take a trip back to the basics. This category handles mainly wooden structures that embrace the rustic nature of Minecraft. If you’ve dreamed of living the simple life in your own cabin in the woods (with fewer monsters, hopefully) then these next few builds may be for you.

39. Wooden Cabin

A wooden cabin in Minecraft, built by YouTuber Greg Builds. - 41

Wooden Cabin byGreg Builds|Image credit:Greg Builds on YouTube

Who hasn’t felt a desire to live in a log cabin in the middle of nowhere at least once in their lives? Greg Builds has released a tutorial on how to make that dream come true with their excellent Minecraft wooden cabin. It certainly looks grand and inviting, and what’s more - it only requires wood, cobblestone, and some glass to create everything you can see above.

40. Wood and Stone Brick House

Wood and Stone Brick House byOne Team|Image credit:One Team on YouTube

Another easily buildable house for any survival mode Minecraft player, this is a small but attractive home made out of wood and stone bricks by One Team on YouTube. There’s nothing particularly fancy going on here - just a well-designed little house brimming with charm. Sometimes less is more.

41. Stylish Wooden House

A wooden survival house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber Folli. - 43

Stylish Wooden House byFolli|Image credit:Folli on YouTube

Of all the Folli builds featured on this list, this one is surprisingly my favourite. It’s far less grandiose than many of other homes here, but I just love the design of this wide wooden build with the staircase leading up and over the middle, separating the taller half from the shorter and doubling as a nice balcony on the top floor. I’m stealing this design for my next Minecraft house for sure.

42. Mountain-Side House

For another home that blends faultlessly into the landscape, try this lovely mountainside house by JUNS MAB Architecture Tutorial as inspiration. The two glass circles provide a lovely look into the idyllic interior from the outside, as well as allowing all that lovely natural sunlight into the home during the day.

Underground houses

What’s more exciting than building upwards to tower heights? Why, building down of course! Doomsday prep in style with these underground builds, made with glass-top ceilings to give your inhabitants mega views of the Overworld. For added bonus points, build these styles atop your favourite cave systems and live but a stone’s throw away from all the secrets that the game has to offer.

43. Simple Underground House

Simple Underground House byFolli|Image credit:Folli on YouTube

Another compact build from Folli , this Minecraft house is sunk into the ground, with stairs leading up onto the surface at each of the cardinal directions. It’s small but stylish, with plenty of room for expansion downwards if you’d like to take this design as inspiration for a slightly larger house. Perhaps a ladder that leads down into a more expansive storage area would be a welcome addition?

44. Larger Underground House

Larger Underground House byItsMarloe|Image credit:ItsMarloe on YouTube

In an attempt to create the ultimate underground house, YouTuber ItsMarloe has put together an unusual and striking clover-shaped base with a glass roof that lies flush with the ground. The central circle is for storage, and the outer areas have enough space for farmland, enchanting , sleeping, and everything else you might want to do in your home. It even has a secret room containing a Nether Portal .

45. Functional Underground Base

A functional underground house made by Minecraft, with lots of easy-to-access equipment and rooms. - 47

Functional Underground Base byMarchiWORX|Image credit:MarchiWORX on YouTube

I love the functionality of this base built by MarchiWORX . Everything is neatly laid out, with enough beds and boxes to outfit a small army of mercenaries who need a place to rest for the night before they set out in the morning to wreck some mobs. It all feels reminiscent of an underground bunker, actually, but the aesthetic - from the foliage outside to the armour stands within the base - are far more appealing than most bunkers!

46. Easy Underground House

An easy underground house in Minecraft, built by YouTuber Spudetti. - 48

Easy Underground House bySpudetti|Image credit:Spudetti on YouTube

If all of the builds here - even the other underground houses listed above - are too ostentatious, then take a look at this underground house built by YouTuber Spudetti . It’s a cosy little hole-in-the-ground, good when you just want something small and functional that nonetheless looks appealing to passersby. It strikes me as the perfect home away from home, a quick and easy forward base to build when your true home is too far away.

Treehouses

Treehouses are just cool . There’s something about taking a natural structure and welding it with something man-made that’s infinitely satisfying. If you’re looking for your next elven Lothlórien abode, or simply wish to make the treehouse of your childhood dreams, see the following entries for inspiration.

47. Oak Treehouse

For all you Minecraft players who want a base surrounded by bark and leaves, this chunky treehouse from YouTuber Shock Frost is a great starting point for inspiration. This build requires you to create not only the house but also the tree from scratch, but the result is a nicely structured and aesthetically pleasing home with plenty of space inside for all your needs.

48. Jungle Treehouse

DiddiHD has put together another treehouse build, this one even larger and located in the middle of a jungle. It’s much more sporadic with the placement of its living areas, which gives it a really nice organic look, as though the house has grown over time along with the tree.

49. Modern Treehouse

<img loading=“lazy” src=“https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/minecraft-house-ideas-modern-treehouse.jpg?width=2048&height=2048&fit=bounds&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp" onerror=“this.onerror=null;this.src=‘https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhe7F7TRXHtjiKvHb5vS7DmnxvpHiDyoYyYvm1nHB3Qp2_w3BnM6A2eq4v7FYxCC9bfZt3a9vIMtAYEKUiaDQbHMg-ViyGmRIj39MLp0bGFfgfYw1Dc9q_H-T0wiTm3l0Uq42dETrN9eC8aGJ9_IORZsxST1AcLR7np1koOfcc7tnHa4S8Mwz_xD9d0=s16000';" alt=“A modern-style treehouse in Minecraft, built by YouTuber “6tenstudio”. - 51”>

Here’s another towering design by YouTuber 6tenstudio . What’s different about this structure is its modern twist, with white floors and glass panes used in place of fences to make the artificial elements really stand out from its natural foundation. If the contrast appeals to you, then follow the video tutorial to recreate this foliage-laden hideout for yourself.

50. ‘Roofed’ Treehouse

‘Roofed’ Treehouse byLomby|Image credit:Lomby on YouTube

I’ve taken to calling this one the ‘Roofed’ Treehouse because the overarching canopy of leaves looks just like a green rooftop, offering plenty of shade and protection from the elements as you make yourself cosy on the wooden beams below. YouTuber Lomby ’s video on how this house was built is also highly informative, with great step-by-step visuals detailing how that lovely ring of leaves was constructed.

What are Blueprints in Arc Raiders?

Blueprints in Arc Raiders are special items which, if you manage to extract with them, you can expend to permanently unlock a new crafting recipe in your Workshop. If you manage to extract from a raid with an Anvil Blueprint, for example, you can unlock the ability to craft your very own Anvil Pistol, as many times as you like (as long as you have the crafting materials).

To use a Blueprint, simply open your Inventory while in the lobby, then right-click on the Blueprint and click “Learn And Consume” . This will permanently unlock the recipe for that item in your Workshop. As of the Stella Montis update, there are allegedly 75 different Blueprints to unlock - although only 68 are confirmed to be in the game so far. You can see all the Blueprints you’ve found and unlocked by going to the Workshop menu, and hitting “R” to bring up the Blueprint screen.

It’s possible to find duplicates of past Blueprints you’ve already unlocked. If you find these, then you can either sell them, or - if you like to play with friends - you can take it into a match and gift it to your friend so they can unlock that recipe for themselves. Another option is to keep hold of them until the time comes to donate them to the Expedition.

Note: The missing Blueprints in this list likely have not actually been added to the game at the time of writing, because none of the playerbase has managed to find any of them. As they are added to the game, I will update this page with the most relevant information so you know exactly how to get all 75 Arc Raiders Blueprints.

Where to find Blueprints in Arc Raiders

Below is a list of all containers, modifiers, and events which maximise your chances of finding Blueprints:

  • Certain quests reward you with specific Blueprints .
  • Completing Trials has a high chance of offering Blueprints as rewards.
  • Surveyors have a decent chance of dropping Blueprints on death.
  • High loot value areas tend to have a greater chance of spawning Blueprints.
  • Night Raids and Storms may increase rare Blueprint spawn chances in containers.
  • Containers with higher numbers of items may have a higher tendency to spawn Blueprints. As a result, Blue Gate (which has many “large” containers containing multiple items) may give you a higher chance of spawning Blueprints.
  • Raider containers (Raider Caches, Weapon Boxes, Medical Bags, Grenade Tubes) have increased Blueprint drop rates. As a result, the Uncovered Caches event gives you a high chance of finding Blueprints.
  • Security Lockers have a higher than average chance of containing Blueprints.
  • Certain Blueprints only seem to spawn under specific circumstances: Tempest Blueprint only spawns during Night Raid events. Vulcano Blueprint only spawns during Hidden Bunker events. Jupiter and Equaliser Blueprints only spawn during Harvester events.

Raider Caches, Weapon Boxes, and other raider-oriented container types have a good chance of offering Blueprints. |Image credit:Rock Paper Shotgun/Embark Studios

Blueprints have a very low chance of spawning in any container in Arc Raiders, around 1-2% on average. However, there is a higher chance of finding Blueprints in particular container types. Specifically, you can find more Blueprints in Raider containers and security lockers.

Beyond this, if you’re looking for Blueprints you should focus on regions of the map which are marked as having particularly high-value loot. Areas such as the Control Tower in Dam Battlegrounds, the Arrival and Departure Buildings in Spaceport, and Pilgrim’s Peak in Blue Gate all have a better-than-average chance of spawning Blueprints somewhere amongst all their containers. Night Raids and Electromagnetic Storm events also increase the drop chances of certain Blueprints .

In addition to these containers, you can often loot Blueprints from destroyed Surveyors - the largest of the rolling ball ARC. Surveyors are more commonly found on the later maps - Spaceport and Blue Gate - and if one spawns in your match, you’ll likely see it by the blue laser beam that it casts into the sky while “surveying”.

Surveyors are quite well-armoured and will very speedily run away from you once it notices you, but if you can take one down then make sure you loot all its parts for a chance of obtaining certain unusual Blueprints.

Blueprints obtained from quests

One way in which you can get Blueprints is by completing certain quests for the vendors in Speranza. Some quests will reward you with a specific item Blueprint upon completion, so as long as you work through all the quests in Arc Raiders, you are guaranteed those Blueprints.

Here is the full list of all Blueprints you can get from quest rewards:

  • Trigger Nade Blueprint: Rewarded after completing “Sparks Fly”.
  • Lure Grenade Blueprint: Rewarded after completing “Greasing Her Palms”.
  • Burletta Blueprint: Rewarded after completing “Industrial Espionage”.
  • Hullcracker Blueprint (and Launcher Ammo Blueprint): Rewarded after completing “The Major’s Footlocker”.

Alas, that’s only 4 Blueprints out of a total of 75 to unlock, so for the vast majority you will need to find them yourself during a raid. If you’re intent on farming Blueprints, then it’s best to equip yourself with cheap gear in case you lose it, but don’t use a free loadout because then you won’t get a safe pocket to stash any new Blueprint you find. No pain in Arc Raiders is sharper than failing to extract with a new Blueprint you’ve been after for a dozen hours already.

Blueprints obtained from Trials

One of the very best ways to get Blueprints is as rewards for completing Trials in Arc Raiders. Trials are unlocked from Level 15 onwards, and allow you to earn rewards by focusing on certain tasks over the course of several raids. For example, one Trial might task you with dealing damage to Hornets, while another might challenge you to loot Supply Drops.

Trials refresh on a weekly basis, with a new week bringing five new Trials. Each Trial can offer up to three rewards after passing certain score milestones, and it’s possible to receive very high level loot from these reward crates - including Blueprints. So if you want to unlock as many Blueprints as possible, you should make a point of completing as many Trials as possible each week.

Best Blueprint farming locations

The very best way to get Blueprints is to frequent specific areas of the maps which combine high-tier loot pools with the right types of containers to search. Here are my recommendations for where to find Blueprints on every map, so you can always keep the search going for new crafting recipes to unlock.

An image showing two Raiders from Arc Raiders aiming their weapons and looting. - 61

Dam Battlegrounds

The best places to farm Blueprints on Dam Battlegrounds are the Control Tower, Power Generation Complex, Ruby Residence, and Pale Apartments . The first two regions, despite only being marked on the map as mid-tier loot, contain a phenomenal number of containers to loot. The Control Tower can also contain a couple of high-tier Security Lockers - though of course, you’ll need to have unlocked the Security Breach skill at the end of the Survival tree.

There’s also a lot of reporting amongst the playerbase that the Residential areas in the top-left of the map - Pale Apartments and Ruby Residence - give you a comparatively strong chance of finding Blueprints. Considering their size, there’s a high density of containers to loot in both locations, and they also have the benefit of being fairly out of the way. So you’re more likely to have all the containers to yourself.

Buried City

The best Blueprint farming locations on Buried City are the Santa Maria Houses, Grandioso Apartments, Town Hall, and the various buildings of the New District . Grandioso Apartments has a lower number of containers than the rest, but a high chance of spawning weapon cases - which have good Blueprint drop rates. The others are high-tier loot areas, with plenty of lootable containers - including Security Lockers.

Spaceport

The best places to find Blueprints on Spaceport are the Arrival and Departure Buildings, as well as Control Tower A6 and the Launch Towers . All these areas are labelled as high-value loot regions, and many of them are also very handily connected to one another by the Spaceport wall, which you can use to quickly run from one area to the next. At the tops of most of these buildings you’ll find at least one Security Locker, so this is an excellent farming route for players looking to find Blueprints.

The downside to looting Blueprints on Spaceport is that all these areas are hotly contested, particularly in Duos and Squads. You’ll need to be very focused and fast in order to complete the full farming route.

Blue Gate

Blue Gate tends to have a good chance of dropping Blueprints, potentially because it generally has a high number of containers which can hold lots of items; so there’s a higher chance of a Blueprint spawning in each container. In my experience, the best Blueprint farming spots on Blue Gate are Pilgrim’s Peak, Raider’s Refuge, the Ancient Fort, and the Underground Complex beneath the Warehouse .

All of these areas contain a wealth of containers to loot. Raider’s Refuge has less to loot, but the majority of the containers in and around the Refuge are raider containers, which have a high chance of containing Blueprints - particularly during major events.

Stella Montis

On the whole, Stella Montis seems to have a very low drop rate for Blueprints (though a high chance of dropping other high-tier loot). If you do want to try farming Blueprints on this map, the best places to find Blueprints in Stella Montis are Medical Research, Assembly Workshop, and the Business Center . These areas have the highest density of containers to loot on the map.

In addition to this, the Western Tunnel has a few different Security Lockers to loot, so while there’s very little to loot elsewhere in this area of the map, it’s worth hitting those Security Lockers if you spawn there at the start of a match.

That wraps up this primer on how to get all the Blueprints in Arc Raiders as quickly as possible. With the Expedition system constantly resetting a large number of players’ Blueprints, it’s more important than ever to have the most up-to-date information on where to find all these Blueprints.

While you’re here, be sure to check out our Arc Raiders best guns tier list , as well as our primers on the best skills to unlock and all the different Field Depot locations on every map.
