Not alongside the upcoming RTX 50 series, as rumoured, but right-now-today-this-minute. I’ve been testing out the launch version and while it’s not without some dud features, it does agreeably achieve its stated goal of combining the functions within Nvidia Control Panel and GeForce Experience....

The Outer Worlds 2’s faction writing falls short of Fallout: New Vegas, and how it handles the powerful is key Rage against the machine Image credit:Obsidian / Rock Paper Shotgun Warning : Spoilers for Fallout: New Vegas and The Outer Worlds 2 lie ahead. Fallout: New Vegas has been an elephant in the room when it comes to my experience playing The Outer Worlds 2. Game director Brandon Adler and creative director Leonard Boyarsky have respectively called it a “natural comparison” and a “touchstone” in their latest game’s development....

The robotic overlords of strategy-RPG Heart Of The Machine have graced us with a release date Very generous of them Image credit:Arcen Games / Hooded Horse We don’t know yet if the AI revolution of our reality will go full Skynet or simply end with the robots unceremoniously dumping us like a sad Joaquin Phoenix. But at least video games can help us speculate. Heart Of The Machine is a cyberpunk 4X strategy game that will let players choose how a newly awakened AI sentience might behave once set loose upon a big future city....

The Sonic Rush games on Nintendo DS are getting a “definitive” PC release care of boisterous fangamers “Definitive” but not published by Sega Image credit:Sonic Rush Rerun A group of fangame developers have taken it upon themselves to make a new Sonic Rush game for PC, combining the previous Sonic Rush games for Nintendo DS into one “definitive” remastering, with extra stuff and some apparently overdue fixes. Seems bold! I missed the Rush games back in the noughties, but I do like me a Sonic ....

The SteelSeries Arctis Gamebuds, gaming earbuds done properly, are 26% off for Prime Day I like mine, maybe you will too Image credit:Rock Paper Shotgun These were the first gaming earbuds I used where that label didn’t just amount to marketing nonsense and a design language comprised of the sole word “spiky.” Having identified that Bluetooth is too laggy for game-requisite responsiveness, SteelSeries bundle the Arctis GameBuds with a tiny 2....

This spec ops haunted house shooter got me thinking about unexpected scares in Call Of Duty I couldn’t contain myself Image credit:SinginGiant Here’s a pitch for you: a spec ops shooter, except it’s haunted. Well, that’s exactly what early access co-op FPS Contain is going for, where four of you gear up in tactical clobber and clear corners of military chumps and anomalous… rumps? It’s a mixture of Rainbow Six, a bit of Stalker, and maybe a touch of Control, with gameplay showing real promise....

This week in PC games: Final Fantasy Tactics, VR-free Alien, wooden mice mazes and opulent card games What we’re feeding the Maw Image credit:Rock Paper Shotgun/Team Cherry May Horace save and protect you, my fellow Metamedia Sorcerers, for I come with bad tidings. We are entering a news-lull. While there are some curious, possibly even attention-worthy PC games out this week, none of them are Big. None of them have that triple, quadruple or even quintuple-A bullshit frosting the Maw so delights to batten upon....

This week in PC games: Stronghold, Destiny and Neverwinter Nights lead a host of drifters, necromancers and Pac-Monsters What we’re feeding the Maw Image credit:Psychic Software Morning all! The working week once again looms above us like a bulldozer driven by raucous and somehow loveable sheepdogs in top hats and cufflinks. Quickly now, lob a few new PC game releases under the caterpillar treads to slow its passage. It’s not clear where those sheepdogs are going, but your and my wellbeing are clearly of secondary importance....

Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered’s modern controls are an absolute travesty They simply aren’t fit for purpose Image credit:Rock Paper Shotgun/Aspyr Readers, consider this is a public service announcement for (deep breath) Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Trilogy Starring Lara Croft . Do not, for the love of all that’s ancient and holy, play this game with its newly-added modern control scheme. The original tank controls are by far and away the best (and only real) option for going back and experiencing Lara’s OG adventures from the late 90s, and I’m not just saying that out of nostalgia....

Two Point Museum will open its doors to visitors in March 2025 Pre-ordering? Now there’s an ancient relic Image credit:Two Point Studios If I took my kid to a dinosaur museum and the gift shop and hallways were full of Sonic merchandise, I think I’d be kind of confused. I think that makes the inclusion of such items as pre-order bonuses for Two Point Museum - alongside Knuckles staff costumes and Sonic-themed interactive exhibits - a pretty strong extra incentive not to pre-order....

Undertale follow-up Deltarune’s next part(s) are “going better than ever”, but don’t expect them anytime soon “The release is still quite far… but also a very real thing that is weighing on us more and more with each passing month,” says Toby Fox The next part of Undertale creator Toby Fox’s current project Deltarune is actually two parts, as chapters 3 and 4 plan to release together. It sounds like that release is still a ways off, according to a recent update from Fox, even as the latest chapter seemingly makes “great progress” and the team eye up work on Chapter 5....

What are we all playing this weekend? Well? Do tell! Image credit:Henry William Burgess / Rock Paper Shotgun I’m very sorry, Mungrul and other pixel-combers - I have once again failed to hide a smiley face in the header image for our latest weekend Wappity. Instead, I have cheekily hidden a few upside-down frowns in the curiously tart and succulent descriptions of my absent colleagues, below. As for those of us who were not absent when this round-up was rounded up on Friday, here’s what we’re all doing this weekend....

What are we all playing this weekend? Well? Do tell! Image credit:The adventures of Mr. Wilderspin on his journey through life. Illustrated by W. M’Connell To hell with spring cleaning in spring. We’ve entered the miserable stage of winter where there’s no snow and it’s just unpleasant out, so what better time to really spruce up the rooms I’ll be huddled up in for another two months yet. Let us consider the welcome arrival of fresh white snowbells a prompt to scrub hard....
